Yeah, I kicked it and I ran.
Just finished up Vertical Plyo from Insanity: The Asylum. I'm shaking. I can barely type. You should see the corrections I'm having to make here with my typing. 38 minute workout kicked my butt. I hated it....but I loved it. My least favorite move was probably the last move. The vertical side jumps. I don't know if it was b/c it was at the end of the workout, or if I was just getting wore out. But either way, when I was done I kicked that ladder so far away from me so fast I think it left a burn mark on my floor. Also I thought I was gonna get sick twice. lol Luckily I didn't, but man Vertical Plyo was rough. Now it's time to get some P90X R&R formula in me to recover. I swear though, the ladder with The Asylum has to be the worst or the best invention for a workout. I can't quite decide just yet. I love to hate it.

Back to Core.
Woohoo! On Day 3! Today in The Asylum was Back to Core. And buddy did I NEED this. After Strength yesterday I was feeling pretty darn sore today. In fact in the warm up today my chest was killing me doing the jacks trying to stretch it out. But it's done! I'm pretty scared for Vertical Plyo tomorrow. But so far I'm loving INSANITY: The Asylum! At the end of my workout my daughter even decided to join in.

Day 2. Strength.
I LOVED the Strength dvd of The Asylum. I really loved how if you don't have a pull up bar Shaun T shows you how to do a move that will get you the same results without the pull up bar. I am unable to put one in my house b/c my door frames are not strong. So this was a major plus for me.
Dumbbell drills were amazing! A little hard. but I'm only on Day 2 and they will get better. I can't wait to see my arms after 30 days of this! Now off to drink some P90X Results & Recovery formula to recover from this beast of a workout.

Sore!
Today is Day 2 of Insanity Asylum. I have not done the workout of the day yet. I plan to sometime this afternoon. Today's workout is Strength. Which I'm looking forward too.
Yesterday's workout was Speed and Agility. The first workout of the program. Yeah, needless to say I'm pretty sore today. I have done Insanity before, but The Asylum is MUCH tougher. I remember quite a few 30 second breaks in Insanity. I think I took a total of 2 breaks in The Asylum yesterday if I remember correctly. I've never seen so many difficult moves piled into 45 mins. Bear crawls, V pushups, hop scotch and more ALL using the ladder that comes with the program. Below is a picture after my workout. If only you could see the piles of sweat I left on the floor.
I'm following the meal plan that comes with it pretty good too. I plan on making a few of the meals for a week straight and then switching it up. All under 1800 calories for the day. My favorite so far is the pita pizza. My husband really enjoys it too. Apparently so does my dog.

Insanity: The Asylum. Day 1
I am sitting here and enjoying my breakfast. It's good, but man, I don't think I can finish it. I'm following the meal plan to Insanity: The Asylum. So right now I am eating my first meal that I made yesterday. Which consists of 5 egg whites, 1/4 c antelope, 1 potato, 1 piece of toast, and bell peppers. I am also supposed to have an avocado but that's one food I can't stomach. So I left it out.
I'll be doing 2 workouts today. One is the fit test. Another is the first workout. Speed and Agility. My husband is also following the meal plan with Insanity but using Crossfit I believe as his workout. So we'll see how that goes.
So off I go. I need to finish my breakfast, if I can that is. I don't think I have ever had so much food for breakfast. But I'm going to follow the meal plan and see how this goes. Off we go!

Self Motivation is Key
Have you ever had to rely on someone else for motivation? I think everyone has had to at some point or another. I want to tell you about something I have learned. Having self-motivation is vital in your success.
Am I saying that if you don’t have that extra push that you won’t be successful? Not at all. What will happen is eventually you will have your own motivation and won’t need someone there to push you at all times. By the way this doesn’t just apply to fitness. This can apply to anything that has a goal to it.
What brought me to this? Well, a few things. For one, I realized myself that when it comes to my goals nobody is more responsible for them than myself.
Second, I got a chance to hear one of my mentors say, “If someone has to motivate you, you’ll probably fail.” Ya know what my first thoughts were when I heard this? Ouch! That’s a bit harsh don’t ya think? But no, he was right. Think about it, when you have someone that is there to , for example, be your gym buddy. Well that person will not always be able to go with you. Maybe they have a family emergency, or just don’t feel like going. Has that ever stopped you from going b/c your gym buddy didn’t? If you said yes, then you may lack self-motivation.
Self motivation isn’t going to come over night. Take small steps. Keep reminding yourself that YOU are responsible for accomplishing your goals in life. That YOU are the only person that can let YOU down.
